TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Collection

At Watches and Wonders Geneva 2021, TAG Heuer has unveiled the Aquaracer Professional 300, a next-generation diver’s watch collection. TAG Heuer, traditionally known as a chronograph master, has been making divers’ watches in earnest since the late 1970s. Since then, Aquaracer, which has continued to the present, has established itself as a signature collection that comes to mind when thinking of replica TAG Heuer along with Carrera and Monaco. The secret of Aquaracer’s success comes from practicality, robust specifications, trendy design, and reasonable price favored by young men, the brand’s main target. New for 2021, the Aquaracer Professional 300 also brings some exciting updates while embracing the strengths of the successful previous generation of Aquaracers.

The new Aquaracer Professional 300 collection is available in two sizes: men’s 43mm and women’s 36mm. The case is available in brushed and polished stainless steel and only one for men, sandblasted in grade 2 titanium alloy. As for the dial color, the men’s 43mm has two types of black, blue, silver, and green, and a total of five variations are supported, and the women’s 36mm supports three variations of black, blue, and silver. The double green color was selected and applied only to men’s, among them, titanium models.
In order to improve the grip feeling common to all models, an octagonal hour marker (index) is applied to the dial along with the 12-sided bezel that has been processed with uneven side edges to enhance the sharp impression by emphasizing the lines and surfaces as a whole. It’s not a dramatic change, but these minor upgrades in detail give the replica watches a little more personality and a sense of completeness overall.
A 60-minute scale engraved and polished ceramic insert is inserted into the 12-angle bezel to prevent scratches and discoloration and to match the color of the dial naturally. Applied indexes placed on the horizontally striped dial, thick sword hands reminiscent of those of the TAG Heuer 2000 series produced in 2004, and white Super-LumiNova at the tip of the second hand ensure sufficient readability at night. However, other indexes emit green light when luminescent, but only the minute hand, second hand, and the inverted triangle point of the bezel insert are coated with a different type of Super-LumiNova (BGW9) to emit blue.
The men’s 43mm and women’s 36mm are easily distinguishable with the naked eye. This is because the size difference is noticeable and there is a decisive difference in the dial details. Unlike the men’s, which has a straight knurled pattern, the women’s is engraved with a gentle wave (wave) pattern. And on one version of the blue dial, eight hour markers are set with diamonds measuring 1.4 mm in diameter (about 0.078 carats), taking into account the tastes of young women.
Whether for men or women, the magnifying glass at 6 o’clock on the dial displays the date clearly from multiple angles. Previous generations of Aquaracer products had a date window at 3 o’clock and a magnifying glass was attached to the sapphire crystal to form a towering shape.
Both men’s 43mm and women’s 36mm movements are equipped with an automatic caliber 5 with a three-hand date function (frequency of 4 Hz, power reserve of 40 hours). It’s not a Manufacture Caliber or anything special, but it’s a workhorse that fits well with the active outdoor sports-diver’s watch concept as it’s based on a long-tested, durable universal eboche. Due to the nature of the collection, which exceeds the ISO 6425 international diving watch standard and boasts a water resistance of 300 meters, the movement is hidden by the use of a solid case back with a screw-down structure.
Instead, in the center of the caseback, the so-called Scaphander diving suit engraving, which first appeared on the Aquaracer’s caseback in 2004, was revived and applied. There is a visible difference from the design of the previous generation of diving helmets, so it is interesting to see in its own way. Dot motifs reminiscent of air bubbles are engraved around the shape of the scaffolder to add a three-dimensional effect.
